Go Windsurfing

Wales has some of the best locations in the region for windsurfing, whether you are a beginner looking for first time lessons in beautiful scenery, or an expert after fast reaching fun.

For easy access and lakeside facilities try Llandefedd Reservoir between Cwmbran and Usk.  Run as a Country Park by Welsh Water there is safe access to a sailing club and windsurfing school that supplies equipment, tuition, and a pleasant cafe area serving hot drinks and snacks.   Best in a SW wind this is a long strip of water in peaceful countryside.

Within the Brecon Beacons National Park is the 400 acre Lake Llangorse which offers lakeside camping with electric hook-ups, ideal for our Bongo, and a range of watersports on site.  Llangorse sits in the heart of beautiful Welsh countryside and is a great base for an outdoor activity holiday or short break.

A popular beach for Windsurfers on the South Wales Coast can be found at The Knap just West of Barry Island.  Plenty of car parking and great views out across the Bristol Channel, but this site is not for beginners as there can be a strong tidal race.

There are countless other beaches and lakes to choose from in Wales including Rhosneigr on Anglesey and Lake Bala in North Wales.  Or why not try out Abersoch on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula and tie up with the Wakestock festival in July for great music and watersports in one!

Our Bongos will make the perfect companions for any watersports adventure.  With padded double width roof bars and a ladder, our Gower campervan has ample space for all your equipment.  The van sleeps 2-4 (or upto 6 with the optional awning)  and the rear seated area is perfect for relaxing and warming up with a hot drink by the waterside.
